a fish story

In the nineties, my good friend, Billy Haas, talked me into taking a pottery class at the CRC in Clifton.

I had not looked at a pottery wheel since college and had forgotten how much fun it is to get muddy.

I quickly made enough coffee mugs, plates and bowls to last a lifetime.

So I started making fish which is just a thrown bowl or bottle, ripped off the bat and sculpted into a little fishy.

After cleaning up, I added the eyes, sculpted a little more and put them in line to be bisque fired. Once fired, I had some fun glazing the increasing number of fish.

I've made hundreds of them and sold a ton and gave away the now infamous fishys to all my friends.

Fast forward to January 2021, with Linda’s blessing, I retired from Advertising-40 years was enough!

I challenged myself to become the artist that I always wanted to become. So I signed up with Core Clay and the fish were reborn.

All are signed and dated.

If you want to pick one out, you will have to come by the studio or visit one of the stores that carry them(I have two signed up) Otherwise you will get the fish that i personally pick out for you!
